Dear Universe,
Four? In one day? Isn't that a bit much?
I mean, I'm used to getting rejections. There's a plan--you log it in, you look at your list of where else you planned to send it, consider whether you're still happy with it, but not for too long unless you have a new insight or got comments on the story. And you send it out again.
But is four in one day really necessary?
I suspect it's time to contemplate kittens, who are very cute and playful now, and return to writing tomorrow. And the Mama, who really likes getting her ears rubbed while the kittens pile on top of her and each other trying to reach their dinner.
And I know I'll feel less grumbly after some sleep.
And one of the rejections wasn't even a form letter; the editor said I should submit again. Another reason to feel less grumbly.
So sue me for being human.
Aren't the kittens cute?
