Met with the trainer at Planet Fitness this morning. Very low key, but basically said I need to go on a low carb diet, eat more smaller meals, no fried foods, and avoid artificial sweeteners (which means giving up my beloved sweet-n-low!)
As for exercise, he put me on 3 weeks of consistent cardio, with emphasis on a higher incline and longer time (45 minutes is first goal). He said not to worry about distance or speed, just length of time and incline, and aim for 3-5 days per week. We'll meet back in three weeks to start a strength training plan and target areas.
I was told to use the treadmill and the elliptical, but to avoid the stationary bikes altogether.
I *definitely* have to invest in some better shoes. These Walmart specials just aren't working at all for me. I mean, my TOES should not hurt from walking on a treadmill!
