It is just as well criminals are dumb, else we'd be overrun. Dumb criminals are still deadly. Take the suspect in what I'm calling the Yale locked-room mystery, though strictly speaking that's a misnomer. For reasons as yet unknown you want to attack the victim Annie Le. She's in a swipe card secured building with 75 security cameras. Even Harry Houdini might have some trouble with this one, and you're no Harry Houdini.
At what point did you think you could get away with it? Even if you evaded the swipe card, you've still got those security cameras recording your entrances and exits. Did you think the cops, learning that she didn't card out of the building, wouldn't turn the place inside out until they found some trace of what happened to her? Me, I'm amazed they took as long as they did.
