Back already. We went to the Fenton Glass factory. They make such beautiful stuff. Too bad that they are going out of business. We went on the factory tour and got to watch the craftsmen making vases and baskets. Such skill, wonder where they will go to work.
After West Virginia we cross west to east and went to Williamsburg, VA. We have been there before but we never tire of walking those streets of the past. We had a cloudy day, no hot sun to scorch us, so we had a good time. There was one man show we enjoyed very much. The actor portrayed Thomas Jefferson. He was so good....you could suspend reality and believe he WAS Jefferson! He spoke as if it was 1807 and could go on and on about the news of that day. Wonderful to watch. We ate at the King's Arms Tavern. Food such as would have been served in the 1700's. Yum.
When I got home there was a surprise waiting for me!!! A new digital camera! I'm still learning how to use it to get the best pictures. The one above is of my kitty, Baby. She is 17 this year.
I try not to collect a lot of glass, just a few really pretty pieces. I had a lot of fun picking out these new additions. Now I need to find white silk flowers for the vase. I plan to put potpourri in the red bowl.
