Beneath Thine Skin

Though my saying how beautiful thou art would be no less meaningful,
though it may be vastly true,
though the words would be no less sincere,
perhaps even more so, than any other that says them;
they would be utterly banal.

It is the endeavor to glimpse something beneath said beauty,
to glean the merest morsal of the soul draped in such visage,
THAT is where the pinnacle of value lies.
