Wesley wasn't sure how many times he looked at the clock during the afternoon while he worked on some research he had been trying to get done for a few weeks. It wasn't that it had to be finished immediately, but he was hoping that it would at least keep his mind off his date later. And it didn't work very well. His mind kept going to Akilah and how he couldn't wait to see her.
There really was something about her. He had been so surprised when she had stopped to talk to him in the bookshop, but like they had agreed, it seemed things happened for a reason, and he knew there was a reason he had met her. He was looking forward to finding out what it was.
Finally, it was time to get ready to leave, and after he put his books away, he quickly had a wash and changed his clothes. He had called and made reservations at the restaurant right after getting off the phone with Akilah, so that was all taken care of.
Once he was done, he grabbed his jacket and headed out, driving down to where Akilah's shop was located. He didn't have any problems finding it, and as he looked at the storefront after he parked, he thought how much it fit her.
"Well, here goes nothing, Wesley," he told himself before getting out of the car and walking up to the shop. Pushing the door open, he stepped inside, looking around for a moment, taking it all in. He then approached the counter. "Akilah?"
