Last night, the temperature dropped and fog came in from the ocean this morning. As a result, there's hope that the fires will be out, or at least controlled, over the course of today. If the Santa Ana winds return, that could change, but for now we're keeping our fingers crossed

So said your "commentator" Glenn Beck in relation to the devastating fires ravaging southern California. This goes beyond bad taste or a "joke." This is making light of the suffering of thousands of people to make some sort of half-baked political point. This is not "news." It is not even responsible "commentary." It is the sort of cruel and nasty comment I'd expect to hear from some drunken loudmouth, and it is unworthy of a supposedly serious news organization like CNN. When families are living in parking lots, wondering if their lives will ever be normal again, they don't need this sort of "commentary" suggesting that it might not have happened if they'd only loved America a little more. The point is, they are Americans, and they are as worthy of our support and sympathy as the victims of Katrina, 9/11, or any other disaster.
Do the responsible thing, CNN. Remove Mr. Beck from your on-air team.
