I certainly don't like the idea of Imperialism or expanding ones empire. I wouldn't have agreed with Teddy or Roosevelt or Wilson much, I imagine. But isolationism, amongst other negatives, also ill breeds contentment - the idea that if it's all good where you are, it doesn't much matter how it is elsewhere. And I think a sort of apathetic boredom sits in. There must be a way to be involved without necessarily being intervening. There are protocols and conventions and organizations in place that are supposed to help countries make good foreign policy, but the US seems to thumb its nose at them.
Man, my father would LOVE this discussion.

Corporate and cultural imperialism though? A bigger problem and probably one of the bigger reasons we're not quite as beloved we were 60 years ago.
