Last week I read Slaughterhouse-5. It touches on the firebombing of Dresden in 1945, which is an important event for me because my grandfather was there and one of the very few survivors. But the book is special to me more because it's one of the few books to try and reach some kind of position of acceptance about death, and the only book I've read to succeed. And it's really funny, which all great books are.
Anyway, Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday.
So it goes.
