Title: Your Eyes Tell Lies Your Mouth Could Never Spill
Author: Killer Kitten
Chapter: 8
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Bert/Woman
Summary: Bert was at a loss after he found his girlfriend cheating on him. But maybe fate will change the way he feels about love...

Dan and Bert had been driving for hours. Bert fell asleep after while because of the silence and smooth ride he was getting. It had lulled him to sleep.

"Bert....Bert....BRET!!!" "AAHHHH! WHAT THE FUCK, MAN!!??" Dan yelled into his left ear. He, of course, laughed at Bert. "Sorry, bro. Didn’t mean it." Bert had muttered under his breath, "...Yeah right asshole."

"What?"
"Wha?"

"Okay Bert here we are. Do you know what house this is?" It was an old, dilapodating house. It had what looked like the house numbers on the front, but there was only an outline of the numbers. Bert couldn’t make out what they said. "If I could read the numbers, or even the mailbox, I’d probably remember!" Dan just looked at him with a sad expression on his face. "This is where we all met...well, where you, Quinn and Jeph had met anyway." Bert couldn’t believe what he said. "There’s no way we can be in Utah, dude!" Bert looked around for evidence to see if Dan was right. He looked out his window and saw an Arby’s down the street. "I remember that Arby’s...the side of the building still has mine and Quinn’s names on it......we really are home?" Dan replied with a smile. "Yeah Bert. This was the only thing I could think of showing you that would jog your memory." "What do you mean by ’jog my memory’"? "Let’s go inside."

They both got out of the car and jimmied the lock to the building open. It was dark and cold. Like any abandoned place would be. Dan tried to flip a switch to see if the elecricity would work. Sure enough, it did. They looked around and everything looked old and either burned or had giant stains on them. But something was puzzling Bert. Something wasn’t right....

....Why was there still furniture in the house? You’d think that an abandoned house would have nothing but the sinks and toilets attached. But it seemed as if someone was still living there. "Dan, doesn’t something feel strange about this place? Like, why is there furniture? Why does the electricity still work? Why---....why do you have a worried look on your face?" Dan was staring at the ground. His face was blank, yet he was sweating. "Dan, come back to me man! What’s wrong?" He whispered back, "Bert....we have to get out of here. This was a mistake. I had no idea they would be living here." Bert’s eyes widened in horror. "What do mean, Dan? Who? Who’s living here?? Tell me!!" He was shaking Dan at this point.

Then, they heard the door creak shut. Footsteps were coming towards them. They heard each lightbulb being broken, except for the one they were standing under..........they weren’t alone anymore.

Their hearts were beating faster. They could feel each others heartbeats. They both turned toward the hall they had walked down to see a figure standing there. He was holding an axe that was glistening in the light coming from the doorway. Dan was horrified. He could barely breathe. He looked up at Bert and saw his eyes grow wider and wider. The man started to speak.

"Bert...how could you. Why? What did I do to you? And Quinn? And Jeph? Why?" The man moved towards the light.

Bert’s puzzled look was solved. He knew who it was....and his eyes were filled with anger. As the man moved into the light, Bert spoke to him.

"It’s been a long time....................Brandon."
