I totally crapped out today. I did not go to work for my father, he's going to be pissed, but whatever. I'm fucking tired and on break and all I want to do is sit and stare at my walls.
But really, I'm going to write about American Idol last night, even though it doesn't even matter anymore since they are going to re-do it. Shady, I tell ya. Shady. I taped the show, so I went back to see what the big mess up was...only an idiot would make the mistake, but whatever. I voted for the right people.
It was like this:
VOTE FOR MIKALAH GORDON
1 866 IDOLS09
1 8664365701
VOTE FOR ANWAR ROBINSON
1 866 IDOLS10
1 8664365702
VOTE FOR JESSICA SIERRA
1 866 IDOLS11
1 8664365703
So if you read the itty bitty number and weren't thinking then...you lose.
Anywho...my thoughts on the show last night anyway
First of all...Paula was so fucking stoned last night. Woah. During half the performances, I couldn't even concentrate on the contestants who were coming out into the audience, rather Paula's coked up dancing. Lay off, babe...okay?
Anthony Federov - I think my problem with him is that all he can do well and credibly is ballads. But, that gets too boring for me, so I think he should do upbeat songs. But when he DOES do upbeat songs, they are okay, but just sound soooo phony. It doesn't come naturally to him at all. So yea, last night he reached a phoney extreme and yikes.
Carrie Underwood - FINALLY!!! Something that was not boring-o-rama! Although, the first time I watched I couldn't even concentrate on her performance because her hair was so fucking ridiculous. She looked like a lion and I couldn't stop laughing. But, I watched it again with my sister and she did very well and it rocked. But as soon as the song was over, she went back to completely blah again.
Scott Savol - I was ready to hate it when he said he was doing that damn Phil Collins song that I hate, but I ended up almost liking it. It was the best I think he's done thus far and he made me like that song for two minutes. For the first time last night, I actually cared about his performance and it was good.
Bo Bice - Hahaha. He's too nice. I want him to totally rock out all the time, but it's good that he can show versatility and still do well. He has a gorgeous voice, no doubt about that, but the whole act and song was a little cheesy for me. What with the whole, serenading the guitar player at the edge of the stage, and all. But I still love him.
Constantine Maroulis - Hahaha. So...Constantine doing "I Think I Love You" was pretty effing creepy, but I almost liked it. I mean, I think it's hilarious that he of all people did the Partridge Family and I hope it was a joke for him. Because I love that idea.
Nadia Turner - I flipping loved that hawk. Holy crap, she looked so hot last night. I kind of wish she hadn't done "Time After Time" but it wasn't bad. I mean, she was still a lot of fun and I still love her. And damn, that hawk from the side made me hot.
Vonzell Soloman - I thought she was adorable. And I totally have those earrings she was wearing. She was fun and cute and she is growing on me. I never disliked her, more like didn't really care, but yaya. She's moving up in my ranks.
Mikalah Gordon - I think I was right last week. She is good when singing acapella because she doesn't have to force her voice to over power the live music. But, with such a big band, she pushes it and goes flat and loses the unique quality of her voice. So...I don't know what to do about her, I still like her but she hasn't been getting better like most of the other contestants. I'm prepared for the worst.
Nikko Smith - Okay. Maybe I have bad ears or something, but I absolutely HATED every second of that performance last night. It sounded completely out of key, he sang the song WAY too fast, it was over the top. Blah...he's the one I want out this week.
Anwar Robinson - I love this guy. And I love that song. But I didn't love the combination. When he first started the song, it looked like he had NO idea what to do with an uptempo song. He picked it up in the end, but it wasn't working out for me.
Jessica Sierra - I almost cried when she said she was doing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" because ...cheesy-song-o-la. However, I thought she was fucking AWESOME! I love her voice and she rocked the middle of the song and the end was gorgeous. I love her so much. If she's in the bottom three again this week, I'm going to die.
