I figure I've had this long enough. Time to start making updates to it. Would that I had some bit of happy news to share to start things off, but that's well and truly out of my hands.
There are some unfortunate events which have occurred this week to mar what was, in all other aspects, an incredibly productive and upbeat one. I shan't go into any details right now, but a few of the people who matter the most already know what's up.
On the plus side, the main unfortunate event has put my plans for the future on turbo. I need to get away from my current job (now more than ever, and not just for the usual reasons) and into a nice, safe, boring, and most likely extremely difficult by this point, lab position. I don't care what I'm doing, so long as I can get the experience necessary to advance what should be my true career.
The other thing which put a damper on my activities this week I can talk about freely, as it was nothing more serious than a flat tire, which I changed myself. Good news about that is I got a replacement and hat it mounted and balanced on the rim for the price of seven cans of beer.
It's so great to have a mechanic who's a friend of your father.
So yeah, some highs and lows this week, but I got some great new manga, did a few things I never thought I'd have the courage (or, in the case of the tire, skill) to do, and got all kinds of writing done.
All in all, this was still a pretty decent week. If only it hadn't ended the way it did.
