Seventh Years - Mon 3 PM & Fri 8 AM (Combined Classes)agkilpatrickMay 22 2007, 20:49:20 UTC
The seventh years were once more meeting in the lecture clearing just in front of the pens, however, in front of the various logs and stones that served as seats, there was a long, high slab of smooth rock, something like an altar, or a table. On top of it, there lay several objects: several vials of different potions ingredients (powders and fluids), as well as some large hides, a few horns and even some tails.
Kilpatrick was a bit disappointed that she couldn't have any live Erumpents or Graphorns for her seventh years to study, but they were simply too large and too difficult to handle. She and Roald alone simply couldn't be expected to keep such animals safely under control on school grounds. So instead, she had collected as many of the different kinds of products that came from both creatures and had them laid out for her students to study.
"Today, ye've got a job to do, aye!" she brandished a hand to indicate the various objects on the table, "Yuir job is to figure out which o' these comes from which creature: Erumpent or

"Er, sorry there, mate," Vaughan apologized, though he wasn't sure Jacob had actually HEARD him. Resisting the urge to attempt to clean up the mess just to properly distract the Ravenclaw, Vaughan instead stood on tiptoe to get a closer look at what the other boy was writing.
"Here, how did you know that horn came from that one?" he asked, somewhat afraid to mispronounce Erumpent, especially as he was fairly certain Kilpatrick had just said it herself. "OY! Professor! Tell us what the thing with the horns is again? The difference, I mean?" he did his best to look pleading and cute without being obnoxious. "And have I mentioned lately how much we missed you?"

"Oi, stop flirtin'," Sean teased Vaughan and Jacob happily. Or was he teasing? WAS HE?! Helplessly, he looked over the different junk on the table and then stood beside Vaughan to look at what Jacob was writing too.
Then he looked back at the table. He wondered if they were allowed to poke. In case they were, he went and poked the horn that Vaughan was talking about. Poking did not help much, alas. He looked straight at Kilpatrick, interested in her answer to Vaughan's question.
"We sure did!" he added with a grin, and then found himself all red-faced in a rather sudden manner. DAMN IT GRADY. Bringing up professors wearing cute costumes on Halloween, and now all he could think about was Killy who was pretty and "Fleeeeeeeh guuurrrrrgh," he muttered to properly express his dismay at such thoughts.
Distractedly, he began searching about in his pockets for a bit of parchment to write junk down on.

Identify animal parts. Boooring. Not that it diminished, the hero worship of Professor AG Kilpatrick at all. Nope. "Aww, com'on Professor," Charlie whined, "can't we wrestle werewolves? Or swim with MERMAIDS, yes? Yes." She nodded happily, wandering over to Sean and Vaughan and peering over their collective shoulders.
"Oi, move fatty," She greeted them cheerfully, not particular to which one heard her. "Ooo. Horns! I think I'd look very attractive with horns, don't you Vaughan? Sean's already got em, yep."
"Ooo that one is a...oh wait, I dunno. It's shiny though!" She grinned, joining Sean in the horn poking.
