Did you know there are thousands of quills here? )
Then she cocked an eyebrow at Ami. It appeared to be a rather nondescript owl feather (not that Laine knew enough to actually be sure she was right about that - it wasn't from a parrot or a peacock, of THAT she was fairly certain), except that it was a brilliant, bright blue on the tip, and had tiny streaks of dark, almost black purple running through the rest of it.
"I'm not quite sure I believe its claims of having come just like this off a real live birdy. And I was just about to go investigate over there," she pointed toward the shelves holding the much louder, brighter, and unnaturally coloured quills, "to see if I could perhaps find it a more rightful home."
Not that standing out was a PROBLEM, of course!

She followed her towards the shelves of eye-popping louder quills, a smile still staying on her lips, in this "investigation" of real versus unnatural quills. "It is a pretty blue, even if it isn't real," she mentioned. "Does it say it has a spell-check charm or anything like that?" She motioned towards the tag on the quill, before picking up a lavender-coloured one from the pile.
"This one says it is used specifically for love letters," she mentioned, an amused look crossing her face. "Because it writes in flowery language?"
Reply
"And yes, it is a lovely sort of blue."
Laine frowned as she inspected the tag. "It doesn't say anything, actually. Only price." She looked over at the lavender quill in Ami's hands and grinned. "Or maybe it magically scents all the ink that passes through it to SMELL like flowers. I've always wanted a quill that would do that," she added a bit wistfully. "Only not flowers. I'd want it to smell like chocolate. Or rain."
Reply
"Oh! Scent ones?" Ami tilted her head towards the other shelves. "I think I saw some quills on that side with scents." She walked over to that area. "And I adore chocolate and rain as well," she whispered. "Rain would be lovely."
