Deirdre had slept through the storm fairly well for a while, but eventually, the thunder woke her one too many times and so, with a heavy sigh, she'd given up. Then glancing around the room, she pulled out her wand and a book and settled back against her pillow to read by wand light until the storm settled or morning came.

However, it was not very long until the door creaked open and Deirdre sat up, wondering who on earth it could be. Then she heard the familiar sound of her sister's voice coming faintly from across the room and smiled. Then glancing around again, she waved her sister over, raising a finger to her lips to keep her sister quiet. The last thing she wanted was for Ami or Glinda or the other girls to be woken up by Darcy.

Setting her book aside, she shoved herself over to make room in her bed for her little sister, opening the covers to welcome the girl inside, "The storm woke you up, too, then?" she beamed as she waited for her sister to make her way over.

Darcy gave a grin of triumph - because even she knew that a crow of triumph was not appropriate at 4:30 in the morning, no matter how loud the rude old WEATHER was being - when she spied Deirdre awake. She took a moment to gather up her things and grab Veronica's hand, and then took off as quietly and quickly as possible across the dorm room toward Deirdre's bed, dragging the Ravenclaw with her ( ... )

Ami had been asleep, accustomed to the sounds of the dormitory as well as the thunder storms and as neither bothered her, she was blissfully unaware of their new roommates. However, the next crack of lightning and its accompanying clap of thunder was particularly loud and she had been drifting towards consciousness that it forced her to peek open her eyes. She rubbed them, as she caught faint whispering and turned on her side to see a huddle on Deirdre's bed. Familiar pigtails caught her eye and she grinned, pulling herself to an upright position.

"Hey, girls," she called softly. "Storm wake you all?" She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Are we making smores?" She smiled. "Shall I make tea?"

When Deirdre noticed that Darcy had brought Veronica with her, she smiled with delight and scooted over further to make more room in her bed. It was lucky that Hogwarts gave them such large, fluffy beds so that they could fit so many girls so comfortably into one bed! "Well, not everyone is as light a sleeper as you and me, Darcy. I doubt Glinda will wake up at all; she's a very determined sleeper sometimes." She beamed as her sister settled in with such a wide array of sleepover necessities. "Merlin, Darcy! If I didn't know better, I'd think you set the storm on purpose, just so you could have a slumber party," she pretended to look suspicious, though it was difficult through the smiling.

"Of course I won't tell! Veronica's always welcome, you know that!" she reached over and patted the younger Ravenclaw on the head gently. She ignored the teasing from her sister, knowing Darcy well enough to be certain she'd never think she'd really do such a thing ( ... )

Darcy personally thought that the Hogwarts founders probably set the standard of big, fluffy beds, and that they knew exactly what they were doing when they'd done so. She approved. She also nodded at Deirdre. "That's true, Glinda IS a right good sleeper. I'm okay with that, though, cause it means we don't have to worry quite so much about waking her, right ( ... )

Ami glanced at Glinda's sleeping form when the girls talked about her, and nodded in agreement. She doubted anything short of a fire to her bed would wake the Hufflepuff, and even if she did wake, it would be more doubtful that she would be mad at the mass forming on Deirdre's bed. She dragged her half-sleepy form over onto her roommate's bed and climbed aboard, squishing her pillow between her chest and knees.

"Clue sounds like fun," Ami smiled, nodding along. "I haven't played that in ages." She would enjoy games and talking more than eating snacks as she feared spilling anything on Deirdre's covers. She stifled a yawn, watching them put the cards in the secret envelope, and then divide the remaining cards between each player. "Mind if I'm Professor Plum?" she smiled. It was Miss Scarlet who'd go first.

Deirdre beamed at her little sister, "It would be an awful lot of work. I don't know that you'd be any good at it. You're going to be busy being a Seer with me, anyway, so it's a good thing you can't," she lightly tickled her sister's side as she teased, "I don't imagine it would be very good to have people always knocking on the door asking after the weather when we're trying to commune with the spirits and all, you know ( ... )

Darcy's jaw dropped. She didn't think she could remember a time when Deirdre had ever told her she wouldn't be good at something! THIS WAS CLEARLY UNACCEPTABLE! She forced herself to look at her sister (betrayed as she was it was a horrible and difficult and painful thing to do, obviously), indignation etched onto every facial feature. She was about get all huffy when the rest of what Deirdre said sunk in. "Well...that would be annoying, and people WOULD do that wouldn't they? Bother me about the weather. That sounds JUST LIKE people. But I still think I could do it. If I really wanted to." She brightened, and broke eye contact with the older girl to help set up the game board (and avoid look at her reaction), "And if you helped me ( ... )

Ami smothered a giggle and merely smiled at the exchange between the Delaney sisters. Seers and weather conjurers? That would be quite a job description. She had no doubt the Delaneys would be even more popular with those people who would interrupt them during their spirit communication.

She placed the glasses on as Veronica placed the pipe between her lips, this time releasing a small chuckle. It was fun playing men, if only for the reason that they weren't men and imagining how they would be if they were men was hilarious. And then Darcy said she thought she would be the guilty person anyways. "Ah, but we only have four players and there are six suspects, so it could technically be one of the other two," she winked, and then looked at Darcy's bag for the remaining props. She thought it would be great if Deirdre chose Mrs. Peacock and wore a peacock feather in her hair. Unless she opted for Mrs. White and her hat ( ... )

Deirdre giggled at her sister's reaction then shook her head, "Good thing you don't want to, then, because I'm not helping! The weather will have to keep itself! We'll have enough work to do, following in Da's footsteps, you know. And that's all the work I want!" she ruffled Darcy's hair playfully.

Deirdre smiled, then laughed out loud when Veronica produced costumes. That was entirely unexpected to Deirdre's mind, but then she usually focused on the logic of the game. She laughed at the exchange between the two third years, beaming fondly at them both. Veronica looked adorable blowing bubbles from the pipe and playing as though she was a stiff old Colonel.

Then it was Dary's turn to choose and Deirdre rolled her eyes, "Well, they're all shady. That's the point, isn't it?" she winked. She glanced down and shrugged as she thought of the characters left it could be, "Well, I suppose I'll be... Mrs. Peacock, then?" she glanced over at Darcy for approval of the choice before holding out her hand to Veronica to take her costume ( ... )
