Axel sat at his house table, sipping his juice boredly. He'd had the stomach flu the past couple of days, and the food at the school still didn't appear appetizing, so he stuck with his juice. For the last week or so it had been the only thing to not make him ralf, so his juice was his friend.

Demyx was tired.

Soooo tired.

He had been up all night trying to do some stupid homework that he didn't even understand, and no one seemed to be able to help him. He'd managed to get it in on time, but he was sure it would lower his grade. What was his grade again?

Ahhh, he didn't even care.

Instead he leaned onto his house table, eyes closed and ears ignoring the sound around him. He could skip a meal, or two. As long as he could catch up on sleep...

Axel's eyes slowly moved from his juice to Demyx, who looked, but this point, asleep. The redhead frowned, wondering whether or not there was something wrong with the boy. He stood, his stomach still churning slightly from his illness and the quick movement he just made, and walked slowly over to Demyx, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey," he said gently, but loud enough to be heard, "are you okay?"

Demyx felt someone touching him and groaned. Aquamarine orbs rose, only to be met with familiar green ones and equally familiar red hair. His tired expression turned into a happy smile and he nodded, leaning back against him for a moment.

"Yeah, I'm just really, really tired," he commented, voice justifying his words. He yawned and motioned for Axel to sit. Who cared what the other Hufflepuffs thought? "Where have you been?"

"Bed. All week," Axel sat down next to his blond-haired friend.

"Miserable," he chuckled a bit, "I was probably a fright to look at. Thank god I don't have a roomate. My brother came to bother me once though. I told him to jump off a cliff."

"Sounds like something you'd say..."

Demyx laughed quietly and once again leaned against Axel. It felt almost... natural, really.

"So I guess you were sick. Are you okay now?" Demyx couldn't deny the fact that he worried about Axel, or that he missed him every time he was gone.

... But that seemed natural, too.

Axel brought an arm aroun Demyx's shoudlers, hugging him, gently. It seemd almost instict to do so now.

"Yeah, I'm okay, for the most part. The thought of eating still makes me a little nauseus, but, eh, I guess I'm okay. "

He shrugged a bit. He didn't want Demyx to worry about him that much -- the last thing he wanted was a protective relationship.

"Oh, well, that's good."

Demyx yawned again and looked at the copper table, his head against Axel's shoulder. He didn't want to be so protective either - he guessed it was because he just didn't know how to deal with it. He... liked Axel, differently than he was used to with any other person. It was just weird.

"I don't know what to talk about," he mumbled mindlessly, still staring at the table.

"That's okay, " Axel smiled and nuzzled his nose into Demyx's hair, gently. Strawberries. "We don't have to talk at all. It's been a while since we just sat."

Demyx nodded, smiling to himself. He let out a happy sigh. He was... kind of lucky, wasn't he? Eyes closed slowly as body relaxed, Demyx couldn't honestly remember ever being more relaxed. He loved speninding time with Axel, even if it was in silence. Even if it was in front of the entire school...

He was definitely lucky.
