So -- I guess I'll finally update (a long one).

More and more often now I've been letting those little things bother me much more. Things that I know shouldn't bother me, things that are inevitable, for some reason constantly are on my mind.

This past week has been pretty great, despite the end being kind of upsetting (I think this is due to the above)
Monday I flew back from a pretty upsetting debate tournament where we didn't so so hot. This was kind of upsetting but I was okay with it, because of the debate career that will be continuing in college. I really feel bad for those at the tournament who didn't continue and it was there last debate, ever.

Tuesday was a decent day. Went in for an early, early English test and I chose the prose passage. I thought the essay that I wrote was actually pretty good, in comparison with how I usually write. Afterwards I was dropped off to have lunch at Bella Luna with Tara. It was a lovely meal as all meals can be, and of cours Bella Luna's food, as always, was amazing. Afterwards, having trouble finding a space to study we walked around the pond behind Bradley Faire and took a seat under a medium-sized tree by the pond near Wilson Estates. We study for about 2 hours then, frolicked, jumped on the rocks by the pond, walked across the waterfall and explored the hidden pond behind the trees where there is apparently a scary snake that is red and yellow and also a creepy bridge. Josh soon joined us and we went over a little bit more math. It was a lovely time studying surrounded by beauty. I hope to study like that in college, like on the Wake Forest campus, or in the renowned Reynolda gardens which takes up nearly a third of the campus and has pretty magnolias and wooded trails. Afterwards, Josh and I retired to John's house where we hung out, shot some stuff from the cannon and had a pretty great evening.

Waking up the next morning I mowed the lawn. Also, waking up for a stupid Math Studies examination was not the best start to the first day where I would be legal, and 18. But, people made it quite wonderful. Not only did I get a round of "Happy Birthday" but I Christine jumped on me with a big, big birthday hug with a surprise box of donuts and a beautiful burgundy card that I thouroughly enjoyed. After the math test which was annoying and a little harder than I expected we wandered around East, and sadly John took me home. It being my birthday it really upset me that I was at home, at 4:oo PM. So, I tried to get people together and we all decided on meeting at John's house. To my surprise Tara pranced into John's basement with a cake inscribed with "Happy 18th Birthday Kurt" and I felt lucky again to have such a good friend. Along with the cake, there was an amazingly beautiful card both in writing and the card itself. Thank you.
Soon after Paige showed up with another suprrise for me, a bag full of gooddies. I recieved some Gobstoppers, Matches, and some pills in case I get Irritable Bowel Syndrome*. We hung out, lit a candle, ate my chocolate cake, talked about interesting college things, and played a fun game of cranium where my partner in team Cranium, Christine and I, clearly won by a large majority. My birthday ended with me feeling so thankful for having such caring, and good friends. Ones that surprise me time and time again, and yet remind me how great they really are. Thank you, to all of you.

After the early morning math studies test and catching up with Will we ventured over to Panera and had some delicious warm food on a rainy, chilly day. Afterwards we planned on taking a trip to Barnes and Noble at 21st and Rock, but riding with Tara and Christine we took a slight detour because I bumped my head on her door really hard um, we needed some ice, and yeah Tara had to go to the bathroom. So, yeah. We ended up at the Hyatt downtown by Century II wandered around, stole candy, and even walked underneath the bleachers which was quite spooky. After this we showed at Barnes and Noble, read some Would You Rather, some stuff about all the colleges we are going to, and other very interesting things. Soon after I basically recieved a lovely birthday present from Will of some Pearl House Chinese Food. After eating this and sampling, family style, a "mango" bubble tea we traveled out west to Prairie Dog Comics for Will and unfortunately I ended up at home soon after that.

Friday 05 May 2006 (CINCO DE MAYO!)
Unfortunately this friday was one of my four days of school during the month of May. I traveled to a very, very empty zero hour, a ridiculsou first hour where I learned that I was only two points short of a freaking A. Second hour where we were taking a test and I had no idea about it so I'm supposed to take it Monday. Third hour was alright; fourth hour was spent playing cards. After realizing the rest of the day was pointless Paige and I schemed to leave school and go get lunch and by lunch I mean "I'm poor so let's go to John's house and steal some food." Wanting some other company, we hunted the building for none other than a Tara Hutton who was relieved and felt rescued by us for not having to go to her 5th hour English class. Afterwards, I had my back fixed with a deep, awesome massage. Ate some delicious pizza, and returned back to seventh hour where we played a hilarious game of Mafia. Aftewards we came to John's house, played video games, chatted, etc. After a while, Tara and Christine both left to their respective homes and their respective activities. John, Paige and I stayed played games and talked. They also completed, on posterboard the list and diagram of the dating chain that has occured within our friends and those at East high. After this Josh came over, we ate some cookies, played some frisbee and shot a barbie leg about the thirty yards, or 99 feet. We played an intense game of Half-Life and then Josh had to leave as he had plans with some ladies.

John, Paige and I ended the eveinign listening to amazing music while discussing everything from games, to relationships, friends, emotional problems, compassion, eachother, college, what we will be like in years to come, how we will change. Unfortunately I seemed alright during this time but it did lead my mind to think more and more, which has unfortunately lead me to the midnest and emotional state of the opening sentence of this post. Way to be cirucular, Kurt.

After all of this I must, again, thank all my wonderful friends for a lovely 18th birthday, a lovely time around the town, lovely meals, lovely games, lovely study sessions, and amazing fun. This has just given me a glimpse of how great this summer will be and how awesome of a time I will and hope to have. I love you all. I can't even imagine what this summer and everythign will be like but I hope it will be this week times a 1000. Which is . . . yeah, exactly . . . nobody knows. (Haha, sorry Team America World Police reference).

With love,
Kurt
