... for spontaneous trips to Richmond to see Mr. ALLEN WARNER WHITE. :) :) :) :) :) :)
Ugh good lord I was so happy to see him. :-D
So.. I HATE HAMLET opened Friday night, and its been going great thus far. Everybody seems to be getting sick but still managing to break some serious legs, so thats always good. Got outta there at about 10:45pm last night and suddenly decided to drive to RIchmond to see Allen, since he was staying in a hotel with a bunch of other CC people for a leadership conference whatsit.
Best decision/night EVER. *sigh* I really love him. It sucks being so far away from each other for so long. He said to me, "You really do look different... You look real." And at first I was like "Wha?" But I understand what he means. Ya kinda do start to forget what the other person actually looks like in real life. :( But boy did it make it that much sweeter when I finally saw his face. Ugh. :) Indescribable. I ended up crying on him at some point and I felt pretty stupid, but I was kind of really overwhelmed with so many emotions all at once, haha. I was so happy and excited but I wasn't ready to leave him again and go back to being separated for what always seems like forever, all over again. But ya gotta do whatcha gotta do. Anyway, had a wonderful 8ish hours with him, about 5 of them spent sleeping. Very short visit but SO worth it. I'm still smiling. :) Drove back around 9am, arrived at CNU around 10 and slept for an hour, showered, grabbed some brunch, and headed to the theater. Finished the show, did photo call, and walked out the door, where I was surprised to find that it was pitch dark. It's weird being inside all day with no windows and then walking out and the day being gone. Anyway, back to my room. So many things I should have worked on but I didn't. Ugh. Kinda wish I'd have gotten some sort of break this weekend. But it is what it is.
Oh, speaking of no breaks this weekend, our last football game was yesterday vs. Ferrum. We won, meaning we're USA South Champions. Pretty cool. I also marched my last (i think) halftime show EVER. If the playoff game is at home, we'll obviously perform next week, but if not, all we have left is the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade and possibly Obama's inauguration parade(!).
So yeah, I've decided not to do marching band next year. No pep band in the spring either. Sad, but I had considered not doing it this year because its just such a huge time commitment thats not really getting me anywhere. I'm basically sticking with it for my friends since thats the only time i see those people. I love marching band and Im going to miss it, but I think after 8 years, i'm at a good stopping point. I need to be using all of that time and energy on a job and focusing on theater and academics.
I think I'm going to audition for Busch Gardens this winter... I'm not really sure how I would work it out if I got hired but i figure i'll just cross that bridge when i come to it. Good experience at least. They pay performers $465/week so that would be nice.
I cant wait for Thanksgiving Break. Ugh. 8ish days til classes end, but I'm going to Philly at 3am on the 26th to march in the parade so I wont be home until around 2am Thanksgiving night. 2 full nights at home and then I have to be back by 6pm sunday for a Holiday Happening performance. Oye. Then classes end the following Friday (yikes, I have SO much work to do) and exams are the next week. This semester has really flown by. I feel like it just began. I've got work piling up everywhere all of a sudden. Gotta love the end of the semester. So far, i've done pretty darn well; my grades are really good as far as i know. I really want to nudge my GPA up because I was so annoyingly close to the Dean's list the last 2 semesters. We'll see.
How do I end up writing so much in this thing? haha Definitely didn't intend to write more than a few happy sentences about my night with Allen, and... yeah, whoops. :-p
