"Sensei! It is Dwight Schrute," Dwight announced, striding up to her and the other man, his bo staff in hand. "Has the time come?"

Today, Dwight had woken up, and when he went to dress he found his Lackawanna County Volunteer Sheriff's Deputy uniform on top of his things. Complete with badge. Ready for an especially productive day of patrolling with Sheppard, he had instead found himself in the middle of a nightmare.

So now he was prepared for an especially productive day of saving the world.

"You bet your ass it has," said Yuffie. She'd be lying if she said he was in any way ready to fight someone like Sephiroth, but she'd also be lying if she said she could do it alone.

"Listen up, Dwight. Sephiroth's shown up on the island, and he's kidnapped Sansa Stark. According to the clones, he's gonna try and summon Meteor, or Jenova, or something. I'm not even sure yet and-- well, grasshopper, we gotta save the island." She paused. "From him. And the Meteor. And his mom."

Dwight listened intently, his gaze equally intense. His steely look faltered, however, at that last part.

"His mom?"

Veronica Mars wasn't exactly enjoying her Halloween. A run-in with her best friend's murderer and a fight with Logan had her more than a little riled up as she made her way back through the jungle. Something was going on, though, and it was worse than usual. The sound of screaming came from far off more than once, and when she came across a group of people, she stopped to look at them. "What's going on?" she asked.

Yuffie blinked. The blonde seemed vaguely familiar, though she didn't think she'd ever met her. After a quick glance around to check and see if they were gonna be attacked, she pulled the chocobo up closer.

"Hi! My name's Yuffie Kisaragi. I'm leading these good men up the mountain so that we can save a hostage and the island from a giant space rock, a psychotic pretty boy general, and his mom."

"...his mom?" Veronica arched an eyebrow, completely deadpan. She'd heard some crazy things in her time, both before and on the island, but someone pulling a 'your mom' joke in the middle of serious danger was totally new.

She kind of liked it.

Dwight could only stare. He loved Veronica Mars, she never deserved to be surrounded by so many low-life people like Weevil and Logan. She also shouldn't be out here in the middle of danger.

"His mom," Dwight said, stressing the gravity of the situation in that one three letter word.

Hiro felt it his obligation to try and help anyone who was still away from the safe spots. When he was sure Charlie was safe, he sneaked away from where she was hiding, sword in hand.

It didn't take long for him to stumble upon the group. He was never so relieved to see someone familiar.

"It is me, Hiro," he announced, not wanting to get attacked by anyone accidentally thinking he was a threat.

"Hiro!" Another one of her students? It was weird, but it was right, she guessed. As long as she didn't end up getting them killed or anything. So she told him the same thing she told Dwight.

"Listen up, Hiro.

Sephiroth. Hiro knew all too well how dangerous he was, and the fact he was on the island was a terrifying thought. They'd need all the help they could get. One thing did make him pause, however, and his eyes widen.

"...His mom?"

Veronica glanced over at Hiro, her own eyes widening briefly and eyebrows lifting as she nodded. "His mom," she said dryly. It wasn't exactly a joke after all. That kinda took the fun out of it.

Vorenus burst into the midst of the small group on the heels of a vampire, appearing strangely satisfied with his blood-soaked entry. With a gutteral yell he lopped off the creature's head, not even pausing to draw breath before cleaning his blade on the grass. Gods below, but the sight of a crucifixion did wonders for the constitution.

Upon seeing Yuffie, Vorenus drew himself to attention. "Domina."

Pullo cursed Lucius' luck at killing the last vampire in sight, but sobered up some when he discovered they had stumbled upon a group of...warriors? He eyed Lucius and his sudden formality, then scanned the group for someone who looked like they deserved such attention.

Maybe the pudgy guy?

Yuffie frowned, and then snapped her fingers at Lucius's manfriend or comrade or whatever. "Hey, you, over here. Yeah, I'm the motherfucking princess of this operation, you hear me?"

Once she had the attention of them both, she apprised them of the situation. "Okay, so here's the story. I know I got at least one vow out of you guys, so lemme know if you're in or out. I'm leading this group up the mountain so that we can save a hostage and the island from a giant space rock, a psychotic pretty boy general, and his mom."

Vorenus dropped his formal stance at the onslaught of strange terms, catching only the most baffling portion of the princess' speech. He turned to Pullo, and Pullo to him.

"His mum?" they asked in unison.

With Eddara safe, Caspian could concentrate on locating Sansa. The possibility that any harm could have come to her filled him with dread and more than a little anger. "This man," he said to Yuffie, "who has taken her -- why would he do it?" He was well aware of the baser reasons for men to commit such crimes, but they seemed unlikely with the appearance of what Yuffie referred to as 'clones'.

"He's not interested in normal bad guy stuff like ruling the world or having lots of money or women," said Yuffie. "Listen, Sephiroth... when he was just a man still, before he decided he was practically a god, he was a general. He led the the army that destroyed my dad's lands. He was bad then, and when he found out he might be the son of a oozy space alien, he flipped."

She shrugged. "So my guess is he's trying to destroy this place, and he thinks having your girl along will help."

"He will not succeed," Caspian said shortly. "I will do whatever necessary to stop him, even if I die in the doing of it; it does not matter as long as Sansa is safe."
