Now, I don't watch 24, but in honour of the recent quote by SCOTUS Justice Scalia :
"Jack Bauer saved Los Angeles. ... He saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Are you going to convict Jack Bauer? Say that criminal law is against him? 'You have the right to a jury trial?' Is any jury going to convict Jack Bauer? I don't think so. So the question is really whether we believe in these absolutes. And ought we believe in these absolutes." -Justice Antonin Scalia
I feel a need to chime in with my great idea for an episode that belongs in the middle of a season of 24.
It'd be great...See, one of the observations about the show is how quickly our intrepid hero gets from place to place. In LA. During rush hour. So, I think they should have an episode, and it would happen during the portion of the series that takes place during rush hour (morning and evening) where our hero gets stuck on the highway. An entire hour of him sitting there in his SUV. Just sitting there. Maybe inching forward a few feet every couple of minutes. Imagine the building drama, the pathos of our hero...
"Outta my way! I'm trying to save the world!"
"Oh yeah? Well up yours @$$hole!"
Finally, our hero gets fed up, and after another ten minutes, jumps onto the breakdown lane to try and get to an offramp, only to be cut off by one of those guys, you know the ones who drive half in the breakdown line to stop jerks from cutting in line. We get a close up of a throbbing vein in his forehead. He reflexively reaches for his handgun to clear this guy out of the way. But no. That'd be immoral. It's ok to torture, but road rage? That's over the line.
