Wow! Where has August gone???

We took Sam home to Springville today. He said he was happy and sad to go. That was a good answer. I felt the same way. I am weary but happy. In Springville, Suzanne, Sam and I walked over to the museum and looked at the quilt displays. They get better every year. I didn't even vote on my favorite because it was too hard to decide.

Yesterday on our way home, we stopped at Smith's marketplace to buy some Black Walnut Ice Cream--on sale for $1.88--my favorite. I spotted mums in the garden shop for $2.50 a bunch and purchased 16 plants. Last night R and I planted them on the east side of the shed--no procrastination this time!! I have looked out my kitchen window all summer to see piles of weeds and dirt. Sooo, it is wonderful to see some flowers there. They will be back next year too so that is good. I will need some accent plants too but that won't happen this year.

I have had an extremely busy summer. It has been a good summer though. It was a pleasure to have Henry, Olivia, and Sam individually for a week. Last Sunday was our ward conference and the talk given by the Bishop was on the topic of good, better and best. I think having grandchildren here was the best use of three weeks of my time. My house, yard and even sewing will not provide the lasting memories that building a relationship with grandchildren hopefully has done.

Today I have plenty to do but I am not going to do any digging. My back is rebelling against all the water weed digging I have been doing. I have a big pile to give the turkeys and I may spray the rest.
