the final stages of pixienesting...
...which i know is as completely fascinating to everyone else as it is to me...
weds/thurs. i'm painting the apt.
all white.
just about everything in it will be white; so mod 70's, i know.
(except bedding, which is forever lush...and the plant(s?)
my shelves and a coupla other accoutrements are coming tomorrow from ikear...
i'll store them in the kitchen when they come, do one room, then the other.
so tomorrow i have to:
- buy the paint
- clean
- re-pack stuff up so there's room to paint
- shove my stuff in the kitchen
weds./thurs i have to:
- paint
- go to passover seders so i don't sleep with fumes
(otherwise i'd skip the seders...i'm that ambivalent about them)
- shove my stuff around again
fri./sat or sat./sun. i have to:
- clean
- install the shelves/accoutrements
- hang the curtains, shit like that
- unpack back to organization
it's true, i moved in a bit ass-backward...doesn't matter. i'm not a planner as much as a brooder (wrong word really), and i need to "feel the space" to figure it out. i will be settled for once and for all, come what may, i'm nesting for myself b/c life is chaotic enough without a nice, clean home to come back to, dammit.
if all goes according to plan, i'll motor through this before j comes back from la, and s comes down to nyc.
then maybe i'll have a mod-rockin' housewarming for close friends or friends who don't mind being close:
bear in mind, this place is strictly SRO. in fact, sticking to that 70's thing, it's a downright orgiastic (?) space.
