I feel like I'm missing something. Everyone likes last nights SPN ep so much, and I was so disappointed with it I think it is because I psychoanalyze the characters too much. I am working on an epic bitch fest about it. I think it is because I saw so much potential for this ep... and then I felt like it fell flat on its face instead.
Of course, this has not stopped me from capping the crap out of it to make icons. Ha.
Maybe when I get through my second viewing I will feel different? I just don't know. :(
I think why the overall reaction has been good is because last week's episode was good and interesting it wasn't the post-strike everyone was expecting, and this episode was about the brothers more so it was a lot better then last week

Last week's episode was interesting and totally different from the norm. I did enjoy seeing Sam and Dean from an outsiders perspective. But since there is only 4 episodes left I (and a lot of people I think) were expecting tons of the brothers and dramaz dramaz dramaz! And it didn't deliver that. And this episode did a bit more. And I agree I didn't like the 2 of them apart so much doing their own thing but I think that might have been the point showing how they are growing apart and trying to find a way out for Dean are having emotions and tension is high. And them arguing more then they ever have. I think this close to the end they should be spending as much time together but at the same time I can see why they are apart. They have tried everything and talked to everyone "in the lower 48" they are both frustrated and scared. I'm curious where things are going to go from here though.
Yeah, honestly, I had wanted the final four episodes to be like a four episode arc... so maybe it is more than I could allow myself to be ok with last weeks episode because the preview for last nights episode seemed like it might be the beginning of an arc, you know?
So if I am very, very honest with myself, I suppose that it is more than this episode wasn't what I had decided it would be and that is my issue.
I'm a bit of a head case at times I suppose. However, interestingly, your super long comment has made me begin looking at it slightly differently, which is allowing me to like it a bit more, so thank you for your super long comment above. Especially in combination with the reply you just wrote. :)
