So, after one in-person interview downtown, and one phone interview the next morning I was offered a part-time job at Chiquita. The position title is "Weekend Customer Service" person.
Here's what I'll be doing:
Walmart is expecting a shipment of bananas at 6am and it 9am now, and they still haven't arrived. So, Walmart calls me up and asks: "Hey Chiquita, where the fuck are my bananas?" And I'm like: "I don't know, but I'll find out for you." So I hang up with Walmart and call the respective trucking company and ask them: "Hey, where are Walmart's bananas?" and they're like: "Oh, that truck got a flat tire; it'll be there in 20 minutes." So, then I call Walmart back and tell them their bananas got a flat tire.
To tell Walmart where their bananas are on the weekends, 15 hours/week, I get paid (drum roll please)...$20/hour.
How sweet is that?
However, it also means that when I start interning this summer, I'll be working 9-5 (at least) Monday-Friday, and then my Chiquita job on the weekends. I'm not going to have a life. And, I'm going to have to wake up at 6:30 every morning for the entire summer.
At least this way I'll be able to pay for next quarter (I was kind of worried about that).
