Two Movies set in a Cave

So I have seen The Descent now and I freaking loved it. I thought it was a great movie and it actually freaked me out bad at time. Not because of the gore or the creatures but because of the damn tightness of the scenes. Ahhhhh!!!! I was freaking out at this scene where they go through this tunnel about as wide as my shoulders. ugh!! Cant take that. Overall a good flick. Only other thing that bugged me was in using straight Hyena sounds for the cave freaks. At least distort it a bit and make in similar yet unrecognizable. The sounds were straight off the plains man. Other than that...great flick.

The other movie I saw was World Trade Center. Good portion of that movie takes place in a cave of sorts. It was a good movie and it pissed me off at time and made me feel good at times too but its no where near the impact of Flight 93. Holy shit if you have to see one movie relating to September 11...every American must see Flight 93. Biggest distraction from WTC is freaking Hollywood. You know what...Nicholas Cage was not in the WTC when it collapsed. Frank Whaley was not at Ground Zero searching for survivors. I saw Frank Whaley in the film and I started laughing because he cracks me up. He should not have been there. Hollywood should not have been there. They should have taken a cue from Flight 93 and used the faces and voices of those that most in the world would not know. The guy that walks past you on the street corner that you see once only to vanish into the distance. The unknown heros of that day died and were trapped in the rubble...not a guy that can steal a car in 60 Seconds and not the night clean-up boy from Target.

Other than that glaring annoyance...I was surprised that Oliver Stone didnt slip in too much political agenda...at least not that I was able to pick up this first time through. Good movies...one an escape from reality and one a reminder of reality.
