These memories of youth brought to you courtesy of Sam's Club and Walmart...

There are certain things that we associate with our childhood. Certain places, sounds, foods, etc...

There are a few foods that I have associate with mine. For instance, Utz potato chips http://www.utzsnacks.com/.

Sadly, since moving to the midwest I can't find Utz, Wise or Gibbles brand chips (these are the brands that I grew up with. All smaller more regional companies). That is until we joined Sam's Club. While we were there I picked up a bag of Utz Mystic New England Style KEttle chips. That's not a variety they made when I was a kid, but nonetheless it was nice seeing the Utz name. I know I loved their crab chips, which were flavored with Old Bay Seasoning. I also remembered that they sold chips in big tins (like the ones you can buy at the holidays filled with popcorn) full of potato chips, and you could go to their factory in Hanover, PA and get your tin refilled for a bargain price.

The other food that I've missed is Adobo chicken. My mom and her friend for a while made Adobo Chicken, which was chicken fried with Adobo Seasoning. I haven't been able to find Adobo seasoning, I've looked at every shop in Champaign. Then suddenly out of the blue I found it at the revamped International section at the Walmart in Savoy. I bought a packet and made a whole mess of Adobo CHicken WIngs and man where they good! Awesome.

ANyway, it's just kind of weird that I'm suddenly in touch with these foods from my childhood. Freaky.
