Green Day Concert

It's a bit late after the concert, but I feel I should at least give my experience there.

Lets see, lots of loud music, jumping, moshing, crowd surfing, singing songs I knew the words to, and helping my sister see over the crowd.

When we got there, we hung out for a while and talked and listened to the music they had playing to keep the waiting people content. Then they put up a screen to send text messages to a number and the message would be displayed on a projector they had. Verizon wireless made that possible. We had fun reading some of the messages, and we got a couple up there too.

Then the concert began with Sugarcult. I heard some songs that I never really knew were by them but they were songs that I liked. I tried to get to some mosh pits but they would always die down before I could make it. Then they went back to music to set up for New Found Glory. Once they came on they played songs (of course) and took longer than I thought they would. Managed to make it to one mosh pit before they were done. Then there was one more intermission before Green Day.

Once Green Day got up there they played some crazy awesome music to open and then started their songs. They had loud explosions and stuff and blinding lights that would flash and strobe at times. Early on I made it to a mosh pit to have some fun. My sister couldn't see so I was letting her sit on my shoulders when I came back. When I set her down I saw some people who were letting people go up to crowd surf. I stepped up and just pointed to myself, then upwards. Had to do it that way because otherwise they wouldn't know what I wanted because you can't hear a person talking during a concert. So they sent me up and I went forward probably 20-25 feet and hit a circle where there were less people(can you guess why there was a circle of less density?). There was a guy there that saw me coming and helped make sure I wouldn't fall straight on my ass when the people stopped holding me up, so he set me down carefully after he said "I gotcha". Then the mosh pit that was resting, in which I had landed, started back up again and I stayed there for a good 20-30 minutes to have some fun. I got knocked down a lot more here than at the Blink 182 concert, but the people here pick you up fast if you fall. It was so much fun being able to get myself launched by guys 3x my size and then be picked up by the edges and thrown back in. When I finally went back to where my sister and our two friends were at, I noticed the mosh pit started by some weak lookin punks right by who I was with. I just kinda rested a while and watched Green Day perform more until I had some energy again. Let my sister sit on my shoulders a few more times, almost knocking the two of us over with the way she kept rocking left and right or front and back. Later on the little mosh pit beside us started again and this big guy went in and all the smaller people went out, leaving only him. That was when I jumped in and took him on, and then the smaller people came back in because they saw me. It was rather fun considering I didn't get hurt by taking on a guy who could flatten me.

So in general, the concert rocked, the pit rocked, surfing rocked, and all of the above rocked. At the end of the concert my ears could only hear about 1/4 as much volume as usual so we had trouble speaking to eachother, but we got everything across. We bought a few shirts and then made our leave.
