My first five pages of NaNoManGo
*Waves* I've been wanting to do this since I saw it, near the end of last november, so I'm excited to give it a try. The story I'm going to do won't be playing to my strengths, I don't think, so it's going to really stretch my ability. And, develop it, I hope. -___-;
For the past little while, I've been reading all the Batman comics I could get my hands on. And seeing as everyone likes to mess with my favourite caped crusader, I thought I should take a whirl at it. Especially since I was struck by a story idea that I really wanted to flesh out.
I decided to do it in the style of the new TV series, The Batman. I *love* the Bruce Timm style (which is Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, the New Batman/Superman adventures, and Justice League) but I wanted to try to do something more... Recent. Plus, Batman's younger in this one, and I wanted to work with a younger, less experienced Batman.
So far, I have five pages done. Four of them were done *cough* yesterday, during the class that I had already finished all my homework for, on the computer. I haven't seen any other digital entries... Hope that's all good. I drew them with my wacom tablet, in photoshop.
I wanted to have a comic without any thought bubbles, or editors comments. I think, for continuity sake, I'm going to have to go back into these and put in dates and the like. The drawings are also rather sporadic. Some of them I like, and some of them really really make me wince. However... I wanted to post it! XD
I still have to work on the character design for my bad guy. It's been hard to find pictures in this particular style, but I bought a 'how to draw The Batman' book two days ago. :whee:
Oh, and that crappy box thing at the end of page five? That's the Batmobile. There's a nice 3D model on the official site that you can rotate and stuff, but the computers with photoshop on them don't have access to the internet, and the ones with internet don't have access to photoshop! *shakes fist at whoever planned this out*
