Part 2.

We slept in so late, the next morning. Didn't have to get up, and we *enjoyed* it.

We decided that we were going to stick around Dob's Ferry, and not go into the city, since we'd have to carry all of our books around all day. Colin also told us he'd give us a ride into the Harbour place, where the buses come. Terri and I both answered with identical 'Really?'s, which made him laugh.

For breakfast, we went down to the 'famous' Dob's Diner. I had a Reuben, and it was delicious. Terri had a giant waffle with many fruits on it, Nicole had the 'typical' breakfast, and was in rhapsodies over the homefries. Dusty had spinach and eggs, with a ~fancy~ name. Colin had a gyro platter, while Ollie had a cheeseburger.

Everyone but me and Ollie had chocolate milkshakes, which looked so gooooood.

After we walked back, we finished packing and Terri had a shower. Then it was time for the ice cream that Terri had been trying to get us to have since we pretty much entered New York! To get there, someone had to ride on the back of Colin's 'motorbycle'.

If you combine the next two pictures, you get the awesomest name for a wine store ever.

XD BEST NAME EVER.

After we'd got to Coldstone, we pulled into the parking lot behind it, which had a few parking meters. This one was in front of our car:

Turns out that the Coldstone Creamery is pretty much just Marble Slab, for those of you reading from Alberta land. It was still very good, though. n___n I had the peanut butter-going to kill Kat if she even looks at it-special, and it was delicious. I got a 'medium', or a 'love it' size, and neither Colin or Ollie thought I could finish it. I did! Showed them. XD

After that, we went back to the house, grabbed all of our stuff, and Terri had the last minute idea of getting photos of her with her favourite cat... Muffers?

And then there was the other, a 'devil' cat who spent most of his time sitting in front of this closet door. His food was on the other side. A very handsome cat, it's too bad he was so volatile. I didn't pet him.

Time to leave! A quick photo of our gracious hosts...

The lady at the coldstone creamery actually asked if they were related. *facepalm*

We made it into the city in record time, and were about an hour and a bit early to catch the bus. And there was already a line!! We took turns standing in line so we could wander around the bus station. One thing that we saw was this audio kinetic sculpture like the one we had in west Ed. With the billiard balls, and the xylophone and everything. It was awesome, especially since I'd forgotten all about that sculpture until that instant, and it was one of my favourite parts of West Ed.

We got on the bus, and it was pretty crowded.

We all read the same book, and it was... Nicole and I figured out what it was like. It's like eating pancakes that you think have some real maple syrup, and biting into them and finding out that it's Aunt Jemima's. Unfulfilling.

We also played some mario party on our DSs, and Terri won. At least THIS time SOMEONE didn't steal my star pipe... *squints at Nicole* On our way down, we got half way through a 20 round game, and she STOLE my starpipe.

Eventually, Dusty asked for some of the chocolate poptarts that I was carrying around in my backpack. Unfortunately, they'd gotten a bit mushed, and when I gave it to him...

The busdriver told us he'd drop us off at Union, but then none of us heard him announce that we had stopped at Union. When we arrived at the bus terminal, we went and asked him, and he told us we'd missed it. But then he drove us back there anyway! Nice of him.

We had made such good time, that we were there before we could even *get into* the station. How early is that, you ask?

The security guard suggested we go to the Timmies around the corner (oh Canada) but I didn't want to walk that far, so we just sat on the bench outside of the station.

Terri played her DS and Nicole and I read our wonderful book some more. Then Terri's DS started to run out of power. What did she do?

Eventually we got into the station, bought our tickets, and a bagel that Nicole and I split. We were terribly hungry, and it smelt so delicious.

Made it back into Oakville, coughed up the fifty cents to take the bus back to the apartment, and then made it in to see that the crack in the wall had gotten bigger!

And the mess of my stuff and everything else shoved over so they could 'fix' the wall.

(DAMMIT. Too long to post MY ASS. I just lost the end of this post! I WAS DONE!!!)

How much stuff did we bring back with us? Check out Nicole's camping backpack.

And how much stuff did I get, you ask? So glad you did, since I took pictures of my stuff as well!

We got this at the gas station that we had a rest stop at. They had some funny hunting shirts, but nothing really funny enough to get for my father. Sorry, Dad! Though I did find some cheap books we coulda bought, since we obviously didn't have enough yet.

Final thoughts.

Next time, I will double check on tickets and prices and everything. Bus tickets, tickets for the con, tickets for Rent, and the like. And have a map.

What else had I said? Dammit, I can't remember now. Oh, right!

Everyone always says how different the states are from here, but aside from there being now Timmies, it was pretty similar. We kept refering to Grand Central as Union, and it didn't seem weird. Yes, the buildings are taller and there are more of them than in Edmonton, but it still just felt like a North American city. I didn't run into any really rude people either, besides the incredibly unhelpful security people from the Javits center.

It was a lot of fun, and I'd love to go down again, but next year is Japan. Right guys?

I THINK THAT'S IT.
