It's a dog-eat-dog world out there...
So, I have to say work today was the most unexpected pleasure I've had in a while!
About halfway through my shift a stray dog wound up outside Weis! He was a yellow lab, a bit dirty around his hind quarters and shedding quite a bit, but friendly as can be! Kurtis kept calling him "Bumpkins" and the rest of us went back and forth between calling him Marley and Boo. XD Casey eventually took him home with her, I think, since the Humanes Society wasn't going to drive out to pick him up since he "wasn't dangerous." Gee, way to care for the creatures of this world. ¬_¬
It was funny, though, because he had no collar and no leash. So Kurtis tied his expensive, Calvin Klein belt around his neck as a makeshift leash. XD He was one expensive stray dog.
I hope, if he has a home, he gets back safe and sound and if he doesn't have one he finds a nice family that will care for him! I really wanted to take him home with me but alas... my mother... :(
Anyway, to add to said pleasures... I got a message on AIM today from a friend I haven't talked to in AGES. She's always been like a sister to me and we've been through so much, but she's always insanely busy working and doing stuff for school. She's always way more independent than I am--she once talked about how she was having a party at her house, which I supposed meant the house she grew up in with her parents. But later she said she was staying with her mother for a while and it totally blew me away! I figured she'd be staying maybe at her boyfriend's house (another one of my great, great friends whom I miss dearly), but the way she said "my house" made it sound like--whoa--she has a place of her own! She's only a year older than me so it took me by surprise!
Anyway, I found out she'll be taking classes at the college I go to this fall! So hopefully this means I'll get to see her (and, hopefully through association, Lance) more! :)
