We went out to eat. I suppose it was a double date because it was me and Duker and Hayley and Dan. It was a very satisfying meal. We got indian food, which I'd been craving ever since I got here. They're Chai was not to Duker's liking because it tasted too much like tea. We, therefore, made a stop at Starbucks. It was really nice. There were a lot of fun moments and it made me remember why I love my friends here. It's been a while since I've spent so much time with a group of people without any tv or videogames or... anything. It was also a very small group of us, so it was amazing. On the way back, Duker was hyper and laughing so hard. That's one of my favorite things about him... I just love his smile and his laugh and he's almost always doing one or the other. We were having such a good time by the time we got back that the BranVan driver asked us if we'd "had too much to drink." I was very amused. Reminds me of the best times I've ever had with friends. Sadly, most of those times were before we were old enough for anyone to even ask us about whether or not we'd had alcohol. Seems that they've become few and far between. We came back to school, dragged Duker away from his homework (I know... we're awful), and went and played Scattergories in Hayley's room.
By the time we left, we were a bit tipsy and it had started to snow. It was very nice.
We went back to my room to get some things. Peanut butter was the most important thing we recovered. As we left, we walked through the snow, which was falling much harder. It was thick enough on the ground that it made that crisp crunching sound. The best thing about that noise, is how you can feel it beneath the sole of your shoe. I tried making a snowball but the snow was only powder and fell apart into tiny crystals as soon as it left my hands. We did get to run around and play in the snow a little. That is one of my favorite things ever. Snow always has a kind of overly romantic connotation for me.
Now we are lounging in his room, a bit tipsy and reeking of smoke and looking forward to falling asleep after a wonderful day. So much goodness with friends, so happy about the snow, and so many beautiful, romantic, sweet words told to me. I feel so happy.
