Bah. Should have listened to a certain friend a while back and quit my job. Lately, it's been pretty fun getting to yell at government workers but I don't know how many times I've thrown out my voice to go along with a cough/sore throat. I went fairly sneaky and went to a job interview on Black Friday (yes, I'm serious, though I should have been at Fry's instead but bailed last minute). Fairly sure I lost out to that 25 year old, pretty damn cute Chinese woman cuz I got an e-mail Monday morning saying that I lost. Would have been nice if I got the job but it would be a pain in the ass driving the 5 North to Glendale every morning. So, I'm back to square one for the time being. A little over half of the people at work (12 / 20) tell me that I'm overqualified, heavily underpaid and probably psycho for arguing against the General Manager (and winning against him) for my current position and that I shouldn't settle for this company that I'm at now (even though it's still growing at only 3 years of operations).

Reasons for leaving:
1. Crap ass pay (lowest paid and new hire (few months younger than me, no work experience period) just worked a month ago is getting a lot more than me for being a SCIENCE major in a Logistics industry)
2. Not going to get hired permanently unless somebody get incapacitated/fired (been proven with all the temps hired here)
3. Can't stand the GM (is this guy for real?), a certain manager (who practically treats me like a little kid) and a tenured/lazy-ass employee that I've been carrying the last couple of months.
4. Thinning hair and practically pulling it out before lunch on occasion
5. Damn cops stationed close by so people get surprise tickets left and right.
6. No direct deposit available. I'm sure most people know about the bank on Fridays (cuz that's when I get paid and I don't feel like getting up before 9 on Saturdays).
7. I'm too damn loyal, depending on the surroundings around me.

Reasons for staying:
1. 9 minute local drive from home unless I get sent down to Carson/Long Beach from time to time (40+ min on the 710)
2. Industry that I actually want to work in (though that may change)
3. Supervisor (backup GM) that I answer to is without a doubt the best damn boss per se, that I've ever worked for (and only person that I have to answer to at work). Knows when to joke around, knows when to be serious and doesn't take out hit shit at anyone else, etc. (But he's one of the people pushing me to leave cuz I deserve better crap than this)
4. Made too many good friends here (and I've portrayed the semi anti-social/introvert image in college)

At first, I was targeting mid-July 2006 to leave but now, I'm leaning towards New Year's (USA, not Chinese). So that gives me about a month. I know that the main reason that I even got into this industry was because of one of my mentor's in college (may he rest in peace) and I honestly thought that this was for me. But now, I'm not so sure anymore
