Evolution just makes sense. I am a firm believer in evolution and will defend it to my dying day. The scientific evidence is overwhelming when it comes to evolution. How people can deny it is beyond me. Let's look at something real quick

most of the verses you compared were between the old and new testaments. when Christ died alot of things in the bible changed. in the old testament God was a very different God than what He is now. because Jesus is always at the throne of God pleading our case we don't have to worry about God's wrath. when Christ was killed on the cross alot of the old religeous mumbo jumbo died too.
the verse Matthew 5:33-37 is talking about swearing on things you cannot change. like if you say "i swear to God that i'll give you the money" or something like that. it's wrong to sin on something you cannot change. if you take God or Heaven into your oath you put that on them if you break it. you know?
back then it was different, culturally speaking, regarding things like incest. and again, you're looking at the old testament and since then alot of things have changed. i take what most might consider a liberal viewpoint on the Bible. i think there are alot of things in the Bible that are presented as examples to qualify statements. i think you should also check out a concordance. and sort of study some of these verses, because it isn't until you actually take a closer look at these verses that you realize that alot of things are lost in translation.

i can understand about the differences in translation, what with the "god created the world in 7 days" thing; many people take it literally to mean, 7 actual days when i read that i thought 7 "god" days. <.<;

i've also just realized that since the bible is written by a lot of different people, there are going to be discrepancies between a few things.

it's certainly refreshing to hear a non-bible thumping christian's thoughts :D

well i definately believe the Bible is the truth. but i try to be open minded about things.
