SAMAEL (series of drabbles - #10)

The demon practically fled through the gates of Hell, tore through the crowds of tortured and torturing, begged and threatened and screamed his way through to Satan’s throne room.
Satan regarded the demon coolly. Well, if it is so important, speak.
          “Jesus,” the demon gasped.
It was only Beelzebub’s sudden vise grip on his arm that kept him from leaping out of his seat.
“What about him?” said Beelzebub tersely.
“I was - routine possession, nothing new, Lord - but Christ himself approached me, and bade me leave the woman. I could not resist him, Lord! He was too strong!”
Satan stood, and carefully removed Beelzebub’s hand from his arm before stepping towards the trembling demon. The Son of God commanded you to cease possessing a woman, and you obeyed him?
“I had to!” the demon gasped, and it sank to its knees and groveled. “Have mercy, Lord!”
Mercy? Satan threw back his head and laughed, a horrible shrieking laugh that echoed through the halls. You mistake me for someone else.
At his nod Beelzebub fell upon the demon and devoured it.
