Two more days in the Pacific.

This trip has made a huge mark on me. I've gotten to see a lot of people's views on Americans, and I've gotten to experience a whole new culture. I can certainly understand the typical 'loud and ignorant' stereotype placed on Americans. Today I sat down next to a Korean fellow, Harold, and he told me it was nice to see people who gave him a more refreshing view on Americans as a whole. So I guess I'm representin' the US well.

I guess this whole thing has made me realize that time isn't going to slow down. The more I think about it, the shorter the distance gets between my childhood and now. Soon I'll be out of college, soon it will be time to settle down, soon I'll be old, and soon I'll think about how my formative years passed before me in the blink of an eye.

Whenever I was talking to Harold Woo, my newfound Korean doctor friend, he said something that really made sense - "The more you travel, the more you find out that yuo don't know anything at all." There's so much for me to learn beyond my own self-set barriers. Really what I want is to travel more and live a modest life, and provide for a wife (and kids) somewhere down the road. Oh yeah, and travel more.

I wish I knew a word to describe the feeling in my gut right now. I think it might have to do with me leaving soon. I do miss home, but there so much more I'd like to do here. I suppose that just means that I'll have to visit again. One thing on the agenda: learn Japanese. I've already gotten started on that :D

Much love from across the globe,
Alex
