Harper's bazaar just posted a link on their facebook page to a
series of 'fashion' photographs depicting a woman being murdered in various 'fashion-related' ways, based on the 'fashion to die for' pun.
I'm not often good at verbalising what's creeping me out about sexist stuff, but this is just too obvious. It's the literal glamourising of murderous violence against a woman who's portrayed as asking for it, adding insult to injury. Almost all of the photos depict men carrying out the violence, too. I think my least favourite is the picture of her corpse in what looks like a pile of rubbish bags...
I know it's to be expected from such a magazine, but still, this goes way overboard in my view.
