To sum it up, a teacher is trying to teach his students etiquette in addition to the curriculum, but the etiquette seems very one-sided. Isn't leaving etiquette up to the boy sexist? And should boys have to stand whenever girls enter a room? Even after seeing Pride and Prejudice, I'm not entirely sure of the reason for this.
What's your take on this kind of etiquette? And how do you feel about a teacher trying to enforce such practices?
