Hemipenes are a reptilian trait, but I think they're talking about a double-headed penis, as opposed to hemipenes. Not really sure of the difference, to be honest, but I suspect it doesn't split to either side the way an iguana's penis does.

Nope, I read the original paper to check, and it's just plain old hemipenes - the media just got weird about it.
Also, technically, hemipenes are only present in squamates (snakes and lizards). Turtles have a single penis, as do crocs, and tuataras have no copulatory organ of any kind.
Regardless, it's pretty awesome in existence/colouration.
