WTF-nature science fiction

It does NOT. It reads more like an often-comedic detective novel full of early twentysomethings. The believable science and the glut of parasite info are bonuses.

Westerfeld writes good adult-level stuff, but a lot of his writing is intended for the young adult crowd. This is one of them. So there's that. But I still found it worthwhile.

There is something about your html on the 'Peeps' link, that leads back to MY journal (and I suppose also it does the same to anyone else logged in, to their respective journals), perhaps you didn't put http:// in your tag. I think it is common, actually?

Edited to add: Yeah, definitely needs an http, it leads back to this page when I view it from the commenting format.

I'd actually omitted the entire url. I just put and intended to paste in the link before I posted. Thanks for the headsup.

Didn't really pique my interest, sorry. :\ I'd like to think that cryptids would be acceptable fodder here, but references to WTF creatures in fiction...ehhhh. I mean, you could have nothing but Lovecraft posts on that basis alone.

Yeah, talking about that might enhance the wtfnature, but would have given it away. Looks like there won't be any more of these posts anyway.
