well, if they were alive, they would be smart enough not to let us see them, right :p

I used to jokingly theorize before we ever saw a giant squid that they were actually super intelligent and just liked screwing with us, knowing we weren't able to run into them. or else were making theories about these strange non-fish that sometimes went deep enough to be near their domain.
