The Large Hadron Collider or LHC will begin smashing protons at near light-speed September 10, to either answer a bunch of important physics questions or to end the existence of our universe. Either way, its kinda cool.

1.9 degrees above absolute zero, colder than space!

Physics was over 10 years ago, and I was happy with my D in the second semester.

the big questions is will it be an IM or EX, im hoping for implosion cause we dont get to see that enough.

as I understand it the danger here is that they may create a small black hole with this thing, so I would say implosion.

Then again I suppose something that big with that much power running through it could probably create a pretty impressive, though not likely world-ending, explosion as well.

yeah i heard the fear about the black hole, that would certainly be the implosion part of the rationalized fear i suppose. Hopefully it will be a giant leap in the human understanding of physics, on the other hand it could be the end of life as we know it...either way a lot of problems will be solved.

Thanks, I love your screen name. I had a next door neighbor a little while back that we refered to as "OMG Beth" (behind her back, mostly) she was a nice girl but very loud and hyper and usually drunk.

Also (speaking of alice), ever since space oddesy, i don't trust acronyms that are used to name something, ie: HAL or more recently GLaDOS.
