Brain parasite

Toxoplasma gondii is a single-celled brain parasite spread by cats. Our feline companions are its preferred home and only there can it mature and reproduce. So like most parasites, T.gondii has a complex life cycle designed to get it into its final host.

Searching the community tags for "brain parasite" and "toxoplasmosis" turned up nothing, ergo, this seemed like a reasonable on-topic post.

I understand the annoyance at the influx of people posting entirely inappropriate crap that is not in the wtf_nature category at all, but some of the annoyance could definitely be mitigated if time could be found to better tag past entries so that people who are trying to be responsible and on topic can contribute things that really haven't been seen here before.

My fail. The last community I was in of this nature, the moderators picked the tags, not the users. Fixed now.
