I think if I saw one of those just swimming around while I was snorkeling or something, I'd break the sound barrier trying to get out of the water. I'm sure they're reasonably harmless, but there are a lot of legs there...

It's funny, potato bugs are actually http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerusalem_cricket in California, and something called a "pill bug" is the little gray guy that looks like the isopod; but when I was little, we referred to the pill bugs as potato bugs, too. It wasn't until I met someone from California that I found out that a potato bug was not the same thing as it is in the Pacific Northwest...and the odd thing is that neither animal eats potatoes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armadillidium We used to like to pick them up so they'd roll into a ball and see how long it would take them to feel "safe" and walk across our hands. Hey, I was raised in a rural area before the days of 100 channels of cable and decent video games, it really was the simple things...

Lice are insects. These dudes are crustaceans, like potato bugs. But yeah, I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a few of 'em crawling around in my living room.
