I'm sure most folks here know the mating of tiger and lion creates progeny as lofty as both parents combined.

Similarly, the 8lb Geoffroy's cat mated to a 12lb house cat creates the 30lb "safari cat" thanks to different chromosone counts in the parents (geoffroy's cat = 36, domestic cat = 38).

totally. i think they're much lovelier than most of the hybrid cats out there.

too bad they cost about $5k.

breeder sites say they have better temperments than most f1 hybrid cats, but i'd say that too if i was charging $5k for a cat! idk if there's truth in the statement.

if you like cats, the hairless ones are perfect for those allergic to hairful (made up on the spot!) cats. It is the fur/dander that usually gets people sneezing

i think it depend the component you're allergic to, i've heard of a lot of people allergic to sphynxes. especially if they're allergic to just cats and not dogs. which usually means they're allergic to a component in the cat's saliva (dried into the coat from thorough grooming) rather than fur.

i'm allergic to cats, but if i live with one long enough it usually becomes managable.
