A Few Weeks

So, I'm getting worse and worse at this whole "updating my journal" thing. Hopefully I'll break out of the trend soon.

So, starting from the most important thing recently, I got to see Emily last weekend. We did a bunch of fun things including going to one of Hope's (my sister) Kuikido (horribly misspelled) classes. It's a martial art that's the fusion of several different ones, primarily (from what I can tell) tae kwon do and judo. The class was relatively small with just Hope, Emily, Mr. Cowert (or perhaps Coward), and myself with the instructor. It was fun doing martial arts again, and Emily did very well for her first time in a martial arts class (I was accustomed to much of it from my previous tae kwon do experience). We also saw Shrek 2 and had other fun.

I came back here last Tuesday and another great event happened: I went to wing night with Mike at McGillian's. When we arrived, the usual waitress came up to the table and asked "A pitcher of Rolling Rock, blue cheese and ranch dressings, and how many wings?" (Perhaps not a direct quote, but it's close enough.) We were officially regulars. The reason she had to ask about the number of wings is that we get a different number some weeks (generally 20-25). It was a good feeling to be a regular.

I've also got some direction in my research, and I'm going to be pursuing the experiments to check out which has a stronger effect on coagulation, platelets or neutrophils (a type of white blood cell), and what type of effects each causes.
