Last year I shared this and this. So I thought I would share another from around that time. I was unpacking and found a journal I started last year but never kept up on, go figure. Maybe I'll give it another shot

Wasn't hidden. Poetry is subjective, so if you can do a piece that people will say, "I don't like it, but it is talented" even too, then you can write anything. I see the talent in your writings, and while I happen to like them, that aspect of talent is what separates a writer from a peddler of scribblings. In other words, it doesn't matter what you write or if people like it, it only matters if your talent is shown in it. This explains the modern art market, as well as wines, literature, etc, etc. It is ideal if you are talented and liked, of course. That's where the money is at, but...being liked and having no talent is not an ideal situation to be in either.
That basically means, by the way, that you have to decide for yourself if you're a writer. It's a self-label. The market only serves to kill people who are wrong.:)
Like I need any other anti-Cree fans in the world. :P I want to be able to touch people with my writing, change their world, provide them some connection, something. I'm not one of those people who can just do what I do without wanting some positive affect on the world around me. Otherwise, what's the point? The world sucks, I want to do what I can to make it better place and be happy doing it.
What if 100 people hate what you write and call you untalented and a waste of space, but you change one person's life? It's not simple and clear-cut, baby. You're more likely to have 10 people who utterly despise and hate you, 40 people who refuse to read you, 40 people who are fans and 10 people who utterly love you. You have to do it for you, or you'll never weather the hassle and stress of petty people.
