Thought the gamers on my list would be as amused/disturbed by this story as I was, especially since I've recently gotten hooked on Shadowrun after playing it with MY "small social circle" (I loved that bit).
The other part I love is how the guy admits that he MAY have blurred fantasy and reality.
I suppose it's all a novel new version of the ol' "Violent TV/Movies/Videogames/Heavy Metal/Rap/The Bible/My Parents/The Devil made me do it defence" (who knows, maybe this guy's just an asshole who sees a chance to offload responsibility for his actions), but what really amuses me is the thought of what would happen if I started acting like my Shadowrun character in real life. Expect to see me walking around grumbling about dwarves with Gatling guns tomorrow, and possibly attacking any unfortunate short people who cross my path by pouring buckets of water over them and insisting that I just "attacked them with a Water Elemental". They'll have to fly this guy's psychiatrist in...
