Waiting for the hammer to fall
Despite my frequent arguments that I'm not a cynical person (I like to think of myself as a very disappointed idealist), I must concede that sometimes, when things start to get good, I immediately put up my guard and wait for disaster to strike. I'm specifically talking about work. I haven't been doing this real-estate thing very long, so I didn't expect to have my first deal so soon, let alone three potential deals line up in one week. More specifically within three days. That's right, I might get my first deal, second deal and third deal all under my belt by next week. My guess would be that one or two of these deals will fall apart. I am trying to remain upbeat, I don't want any of these deals to fail. My only hope is that since all three of these are such small deals, for so little money, that Murphy's Law doesn't actually pay attention to something that small. Of course, I'm pretty sure that if all three close, it means I have cancer.
