Hey, we talked about Angela/Hodgins over at tv_share and I adored your icons. I think we have quite a bit in common - I'm a huge bookworm too (6 books in a day! Wow!) and OMG a Castle and Syfy's Alice? Can we be friends?
EDIT: WHAT I JUST SAW UNDER BOOKS JUDITH MCNAUGHT'S SOMETHING WONDERFUL OMG SWEETEST&CUTEST BOOK EVER!
Haha! It's so awesome to find someone who loves that book! I don't have many friends that even know who Judith McNaught is, let alone that book! It's sweet, funny, tragic and heartfelt all in one.
Oh, you'll find I read many, many, many romance novels :) Judith McNaught was the one who REALLY got me launched into the whole crazy genre ♥
I also have a deep love for Paradise, one of her contemporaries. Almost Heaven is good too, but I think Something Wonderful is the sweetest over her books, McNaught tends to like her Big Misunderstandings and angst, doesn't she?
I also got into romance novels thanks to her. I just love how she rights her characters, whether in more modern time or not.
I've read everything of hers, hehe. I loved Almost Heaven and Paradise was the first modern-day book, I've read of hers. It holds a special place on my bookshelf. It's my second favorite of hers and I like to reread it once a year (just like Something Wonderful).
I also enjoy Once and Always and Whitney, My Love.
I love the angst! She writes it so well, and always has me by the heart strings. I love when a book captivates my attention that I can't put it down. Every one of her books was like that. Even through the misunderstandings and angst I could never put them down.
Once and Always! I loved it the first time I read it but I don't think I can do so again. Jason was SUCH an ass to Victoria! Whitney, My Love was my first book by her, and, oh it was glorious. Even recognizing the blatant use of Big Misunderstandings I still have fond memories.
YES. The angst is what gets me with her books. I haven't reread her books in so long! I should...
I remember reading Once and Always that first time and not wanting to finish it, because I hated Jason so much. But as I read, I grew to like his character and by the end, I was sad to finish the book.
Talking about Judith McNaught, is making me want to reread her books all over again. But I have to finish the two books I'm reading now, first. *lol*
A lot of people couldn't stomach him from the beginning let alone on their dubious/weird/rapey wedding night. I understood his character and McNaught always writes her super Alpha Males like jerks, so I ended up loving the end too. No one writes a groveling hero like McNaught does XDD
I love your icon! Barney woot!
(you know, I feel we're going to get along splendidly and that makes me happy)
Tell me about it. I hated him so much. But She writes her characters so well, and that includes faults (which tend to be a major thing for her male characters, especially). She made me see him as a three dimensional human being, and that's why I liked him more as I read.
