Thoughts on American Pop Culture
I used to think about,and follow pop culture very, very closely. I believe the media is directly responsible for defining pop culture. And because my former career was commercial film production, I believe I helped shape pop culture. At the very least, I used pop culture to further people’s desire for my client’s products. Interestingly, there is now a job function at ad agencies that’s sole responsibility is to track and anticipate pop culture and consumer trends. Wish I could have gotten paid to do this when I was younger.
